Three-night Mexico City run opens — National Palace greeting + 50,000 at Zócalo
BTS has launched the Latin American leg of WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG' at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, with all three shows (5/7, 5/9, 5/10) sold out. On 5/6 (local time), the day before the opening night, Mexican President Sheinbaum invited the group to the National Palace, where they spent about 40 minutes in conversation before stepping onto the balcony together. In Spanish, BTS told fans, "The energy is incredible. Thank you for the support." Roughly 50,000 people had gathered at nearby Zócalo Square to cheer them on, and the Mexican government recognized the group's contribution to a culture of respect, empathy, diversity, and peace among Mexican youth, awarding them 'Distinguished Visitors (Visitantes Distinguidos)' status along with a commemorative plaque. The Mexico City Chamber of Commerce projects the three-night run will generate around USD 107.5 million (about KRW 155.7 billion). Earlier on 5/2–3, the El Paso, Texas shows triggered a 'BTS Weekend' proclamation and lit the 'Star on the Mountain' landmark in purple, leaving behind an estimated USD 75 million in economic impact.
